Lisa Schmidt
Executive Director
Contact via Email

Lisa is currently the Executive Director at Gurnee Place Memory Care. She joins the team as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with over 25 years’ experience managing and leading teams to success. Her priority is that all residents have choices every day and that they can live in a safe, loving environment as independently as they are able.

Lisa grew up in southern Florida and went across country to University of Long Beach in California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts where she studied different therapies in order to work with adults and seniors that were diagnosed with different Intellectual and physical disabilities. Lisa’s philosophy was to always teach and help people understand that they do not have a disability but rather have an ability to do anything they choose

Lisa moved to Illinois and started working for the State of Illinois at an Intermediate Care Facility that cared for kids and adults with Developmental Disabilities as a Certified

Therapeutic Recreational Specialist. Lisa developed senior programs and activities that she was able to adapt to all skill levels. She believes in inclusion, involving the community, schools and local churches in the lives of all residents

Lisa’s biggest accomplishment was opening the first senior home with adults that were diagnosed with intellectual disabilities in order to teach them how to become more independent so they could function on their own safely in the community. This empowered the men to learn different skills and to work together to accomplish what they wanted.

She has lived in Gurnee for over 27 years and is very involved in her community.

Lisa has two amazing kids, the oldest became a Jay Hawk and graduated from the University of Kansas and headed down south to the beautiful beaches of Florida to begin his adult life. Her daughter is currently studying at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, to become a social worker. She has started her adult life with the pandemic halting her studies and masterfully figuring out the world’s new norm.

My name is Elizabeth Hansen, and I will be joining the Gurnee Place team as the Director of Nursing. I am very excited to join the team and look forward to assisting in the care of your loved one.
I relocated to Illinois in 2016 from Michigan after meeting my fiancé in 2016. We plan to be married this June. I have two beautiful children. My daughter is 21 and attends college full time in Michigan. She is pursuing a degree in marketing. My son is 24 and is in the USAF in Williston VT. He is in advanced avionics on the F35 jet fighters. I am extremely proud of both of my children.
Most recently, I worked at Brookdale Hospice as a RN case manager. Prior to moving to Illinois I worked as a cardiovascular and ER nurse in the local hospital. I worked at the hospital for 20+ years. I am excited to share my knowledge with the team and vice versa. I look forward to meeting your loved one.

Pam Feldman
Director of Sales & Marketing
Contact via Email

My name is Pam Feldman, and I joined the Gurnee Place Memory Care Family as the Director of Sales and Marketing on November 16th, 2020.  I have over 25 years of experience in sales, operations management and customer experience in the Banking Industry.  I took a leap of faith in 2016 and changed careers to the Home Health Industry where I was the administrator of Northern Rose Home Health located in Grayslake, Illinois.  This is truly where my passion for helping seniors came into play.  I found true joy in making sure that their transition from the hospital / rehabilitation facility was seamless and made sure that excellent care would continue in the patients’ home.

Prior to this career change, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.  As my family was navigating through this new journey and learning more about the disease, we were able to keep mom at home with caregiving services for a few years.  As her disease continued to progress, my family agreed that mom was no longer safe at home and needed more care than what we were able to provide.  In October, I moved my mom into Gurnee Place Memory Care, and I have to tell you that she is doing very well and thriving since making the change.

My husband Aaron and I have been married for 21 years and have been living in Grayslake for the past 18 years.  In 2006, our family became complete when we adopted our son Ethan from South Korea, who was 6 months old at the time.

I absolutely love to cook and to be in the kitchen.  When I have time, I also like to be creative and crafty.  However, when spring comes and the weather warms up, you will not find me at home on the weekends.  My son plays baseball for Illinois Lightning an elite travel baseball team.  I love watching him in his happy place which is on the mound pitching and playing 3rd base.

I am passionate about my job.  Being able to help your loved ones gives me great satisfaction.
